Robyn Rand _ CD packaging - post 1

The music genre I will be working with will be all types of modern JAZZ
This will consist of primarily Jazz music electronically mixed with house or a deep house style of music.
The title will be either: 'Burning Dog', or 'The Altered State of Miles'.

Some adjectives I think of for this genre would be: happy, warm, groovy, versatile, deep, soulful, timeless, emotional, strong, lively, funky
The colour palette I imagine working with would be something like a combination of : deep blue, aqua and lemon yellow, or: charcoal, lime green and a light olive green, and maybe a hot pink just to liven things up a bit.
The fonts and imagery will be strong shapes, lines and flat colours, with a smoky line travelling through everything.
I would enjoy working with diecut or transparent/opaque film and layers.

I was thinking of making a compilation cd package based around the indie/alternative/rock/easy listening genre. My favourite bands consist of the kooks, kings of leon, the view, the strokes, the shins, the john steel signers, razorlight, the pigeon detectives, vampire weekend, yves klein blue, tame impala, spoon, the hives, the vines, fleet foxes, the dandy warhols, the datsuns, the galvatrons, and more but they seem to fall in the indie/alternative genre so I thought I would go with that.

Post 1. Chloe

The genre i will be doing is Acoustic.
I'm not sure about a title yet.
My colour palette will be soft grey, creamy browns, black, white, dark reds.
I will be doing Cardboard Packaging, possibly have some hand stitching to give the effect of an old sketchbook or notepad.
fonts i will be using will mostly be handwriting.
I am intending on designing it to appear as old paper, damaged or torn. To give the idea of staying up to all hours of the night writing song lyrics. coffee stains, ink smudges etc
Any images used would be old Polaroid photos that appear stuck on by sticky tape.
